w a t e r p i s t o l is james powell and naomi zeilemaker. a band of two – one from london; one from amsterdam.

the band formed in the summer of 2014 and have since been busy penning songs and recording when they can. they successfully crowdfunded the first ep, blue waters, via the dutch arts foundation, voordekunst.nl, in may 2015. the debut ep includes four songs and was released in June 2015 on digital platforms, and on 10” vinyl in august 2015.

musically, inspiration has come from all sorts – zita swoon, hoagy carmichael, cat power, prince, the super furry animals, joni mitchell, toumani diabaté, led zeppelin, talking heads, rage against the machine – all of which … frequently re-appear on the record player. it’s a list of artists that will probably be….different if you read a waterpistol description somewhere else.

they are currently recording new songs in amsterdam for release soon.
